Second Grade Abstract Expressions


Abstract Sculptures

Each student had access to various types of papers.
The entire class started with strips of the paper, then used glue and scissors to assemble their forms. We then mounted all the work on black paper to allow the color to pop.
The students learned a lot from each other by verbalizing

Abstract Drawings
Each student was given a square piece of cardboard.
They were allowed to leave it as a square, or use a scissor to change the shape.
Moving their cardboard shape around the paper,
the repetitious tracing creates various abstract forms.
